April 2002: Paris, France
On Monday, we took a bus tour to Mont Ste. Michel. When we returned, we decided to go to La Tour Eiffel (the Eiffel Tower) to take in a nighttime view of the City of Lights. As you can see, the tower was beautiful. The views were great, too, but not the photos.
On Tuesday morning, we hopped a train to Versailles. We returned in time for a late lunch, then spent the afternoon at the Musee d'Orsay. The building was once a rail station, and its atrium-like central gallery has great light for scultpture.
Tuesday was our last night in Paris, so we decided to get all dolled-up for a trip to the Moulin Rouge.
On Wednesday morning, we had just enough time to see the Rodin Museum before boarding our train to Strasbourg. It was a great museum, and Stuart liked the addition of related works by other artists, such as this pastel of Le Penseur (The Thinker) by Munch (pictured behind a study in bronze by Rodin).
